IAHET Covid-19 Deliveries
IAHET Covid-19 Emergency Assistance Update
Thanks to the generous support from all over the country, the Imam Abdullah Haron Education Trust has been able to raise and distribute over R80 000 worth of food parcels and hot food to communities most affected by the lockdown that was necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The areas prioritized were Langa, Belhar and the west coast communities in Veldriff and St Helena Bay, areas where the IAHET runs Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes.
To date, 200 parcels have been distributed on our behalf by the Foundation for Community Work (FCW) in Langa and 165 by the SA National Zakah Fund (Sanzaf) in Belhar.
We are also aiming, with the assistance of Grassroots Educare Trust, to distribute 120 food parcels in Veldriff and St Helena Bay.
Further deliveries of food parcels to the most needy areas in Cape Town are being planned in conjunction with the Ibaadur Raghmaan Islamic Society.
The IAHET is also sponsoring four pots of food – two made by Mustadafin Foundation and the other two by the Pinelands Islamic Society. Each pot of food, which costs R1500, feeds 350-400 people from surrounding marginalized communities.
“We have been overwhelmed by the goodwill of supporters of the IAHET who have rallied unselfishly to the cause of those in desperate need,” said IAHET chairperson Ebrahim Mohamed.
“On behalf of all those families who have benefited from their generosity, I thank those who have contributed to our ongoing Covid-19 Emergency Appeal.”
