SUSPENSION OF IAHET ECD ACTIVITIES

On Sunday 15 March 2020 President Cyril Ramaphosa’s declared the current coronavirus pandemic a National State of Disaster. The President also announced a series of measures to curb the spread of the deadly virus and reduce its impact on our society and economy. In giving heed to the President’s call to minimize the risk of spreading the virus by  limiting contact among groups of people,  we have decided to suspend our ECD programme.

 

In the light of this the IAHET, in conjunction with its Early Childhood Development partners, advises that all playgroups will close between 18 March and 14 April 2020 at the earliest. The situation will be reviewed after 14 April and we are committed to following the government’s advice with regard to their coronavirus plan of action.

 

The ECD agencies, Grassroots Educare, the Centre for Early Childhood Development and the Foundation of Community Work, have taken a number of internal precautionary measures of their own which includes limiting face-to-face meetings and utilizing online or communication by telephone where possible.
